I'm really starting to sound like every other parent out there. Where did the time go? I can't believe my baby is 4! Etc. Etc. Well, Cole is 4 and what a great age! He is so much fun right now and has such a great sense of humor. He really enjoys life. He's still a bit shy and takes time in new situations. He loves race cars, airplanes, rockets (anything that goes FAST) and still loves playing sports. He loves to draw & color - becoming quite the artist! He is making some good progress with swimming this summer and is trying to ride his bike with no training wheels, but man that is hard work!
He had his 4 year check up today and he was 36lbs (50%tile) and 41" tall (75%tile). Still growing steadily despite the fact that he's not a big eater (same old story there!). Today was also the day for four, count them four, shots. I had to prepare him in advance and honestly, he did great, but it was so hard for me to sit there and hold his arms down while I let this nurse poke him all over! Tears quickly subsided and we were off to the toy store for a new Blue Angels plane. I didn't realize that besides flu shots, we are DONE with immunizations until he is 11! Seven years from now I will pinch myself and say, "where did the time go?"
I thought I would put up a few pics from the last few weeks. Cole invited over a few friends for a little celebration.
Celebrating Owen's 4th Birthday!
The 4 year olds from our PEPS group.
Trying to get the siblings in there too. Hard work!
Enjoying one of his favorite birthday gifts - a remote control hydroplane!
Enjoying some well-needed sunshine in the backyard with Kate (aka silly girl - she's a riot!!)
Kate is totally uninterested in television, but this is one of the few times she would watch - Elmo of course!
At the Ballard Locks.
The salmon are climbing the fish ladder in the pictures below (behind the kids).
It's been a great summer so far! Wish it were a little warmer (again, same old story), but we've had a lot of fun. I hope by the end of the year to have my camera a little bit more mastered, but it is fun taking all these pictures! Great shot below, but my shutter speed was too high and my picture came out too dark. Still fun though!
Hey D! I didn't even know you had a blog, so I am so happy to see this! Cole is ADORABLE! What a handsome little guy. $ really is the best age and it just gets better from there. Love the cake and the party. You are an awesome mom cause that is hard work. Kate is so big now and she is precious. I think Cole looks like you and Kate looks like her daddy! Too cute! Happy Birthday, Cole!!
